PREP Write about the film making that you have done over the last two weeks. Add photos to support and illustrate your post.

Write about how you made it, explaining the process and referring to the equipment - the Hue camera, the Mac,  the name of your Production Company, the sound effects.

Paragraph 2: Your table top filming

Write about the filming. Explain some of the items that you had on the table and how you handled the camera. Explain what you wanted the audience to focus on (if you paused to make them look at anything in particular).

Paragraph 3: Your 'live action' filming

Explain what you filmed here and how you wanted the film opening to develop in this bit.

Paragraph 4: Editing

  • What sound effects did you add to the Production Company logo?
  • What track did you put down under the rest of the film?
  • What was your FILM TITLE?
  • What credits did you add (like actor names)?

Paragraph 5: Your views

How did you think that your production went? Were there any challenges, disasters or triumphs?

We started our production company logo with a big piece of paper as the background which had blossoms on the back. Our production company name was printed out on a separate piece of paper, which we then placed on the paper. Our object was a fan. So we had the fan open and used the hue camera to take clips of it closing. We then used the mac to go onto iMovie and edit it. We added a sound affect which we thought went with the fan the most and what was most flattering.

For our table top filming we had lots of different old newspaper type documents, and old pictures of people. We also had a lot of jewellery and two clothing's (a dress and a blue top). We placed our names on the objects which we thought stood out the most, for example the bright blue top was very eye catching and was perfect to add a name on. In the background we had edited in a song which had the word "baby" in it, when the song said baby we had a picture of a baby which we thought was very effective as they both related to each other. The main person was a rich royal woman, because of this we got four playing cards which were all queens so that it would give the audience an idea of what this was about.

Our live action filming was filmed on a phone. We decided we wanted to make a feeling of suspense, so we filmed a shot of a woman running, obviously trying to get away from something, then suddenly she falls over after the sound of a gun shot. We knew this was going to be her husband after she took lots of the money after their divorce, but in the film you wouldn't know that because its just presented as a mysterious person who's face you never see. We then did a close shot of the person taking a necklace out of the 'dead' woman's hand. We thought this would be extremely affective because now the audience would have a more clear understanding of what the focus on this film is partly about.

For the editing of the production company logo we used a sound that almost seemed like someone had brushed against metal objects and they all have tapped together making a soft sound. For the rest of the film we have used the song "put your head on my shoulder" we thought this went well with the vibe because this song starts off with a calm tone and then slowly speeds up in time for when our live action shot starts to begin, which is when the woman gets shot. Our film title was "Femme Fatale" We named it this because it means "dangerous women" in French. Our credits was all our names "Isabella Simms, Ava Palmer, Kaya Taylor and India Saville".

I think that our production went really well. We wanted to keep it simple but affective. Although at the beginning of filming the live action, we were trying to add a lot more detail than we needed, until we realised that we are over complicating it and we only need a few of the main shots. I think that we filmed it really nicely and the quality came out very good. My favourite was definitely the slow motion of the woman falling and the jewellery being taken out of the hand.

  1. 10/10 Beautiful work from a talented Production Team! You have made a production company logo in stop frame animation, filmed and edited a tabletop sequence followed by a live-action sequence, then added titles and sound. Altogether an effective, polished and visually powerful piece.
